Why should you be interested in this sale?
In short, because of "Web 2.0". The web is changing and the general interest in RSS and ATOM feeds has exploded. Even Bill Gates has declared it a "new phenomenon". With the resulting exponential growth, it is a good business practice to ride the crest of change.
There are some very important commercial reasons why you should be interested in this trend. If you are in the business of business on the Internet, you probably know all about the business case for RSS. Couple these opportunities with the web 2.0 concept of the long tail and it makes good sense to stick your toe in the water and learn about the phenomenon.
RSS Suite provides instant entry into the business. Most importantly, it provides exposure in many different RSS target markets. No matter what segment has the greatest growth, RSS Suite will be in a position to take advantage of it.
What is the sale process?
The RSSsuite auction sale will eventually be listed on eBay with a reserve bid. The posting date is not established yet but if you wish to be notified of the date send an email to
If sufficient interest is generated beforehand, the eBay auction will be cancelled. We would prefer to sell beforehand because we feel it is in both the buyer and seller's interest to avoid the uncertainty of an auction model. Feel free to contact us at
The sale will be processed through Escrow.com with the purchaser assuming the Standard Service Escrow Fee.
Are there financing options?
We are open to any offer prior to the point of listing on eBay. After this, financing cannot be negotiated because the Sale will become a pure auction.
Who should purchase RSS Suite?
The development of each website is completed and the Introduction stage underway. Each of the RSS Suite websites is poised to begin the rapid Growth stage.

The ideal purchaser would be someone with the marketing expertise and resources to take these newly developed websites and promote through to the Maturity stage, reaping the commercial benefits along the way.
Why are you selling?
We have been particularly successful at starting content-rich websites, developing the business potential and selling to larger, more resource-rich firms. See our business model in action at ProgramFiles.com, Cramsession.com or Investopedia.com.
We are in the business of development and sell when complete.
What is not included in the Sale?
- Several third-party .NET libraries used in the software do not have licenses included. A purchaser could:
a. Obtain new licenses for these products (approximately $1000 USD), or
b. Modify the software to eliminate the need for these products (approximately 20 hours development and testing time). - Licenses for servers or support software like Visual Studio are not included.
- Hardware is not included, but purchase of the existing Dell servers could be negotiated.
Can the website design be made to look like my website?
Each website is designed and coded using XHTML and CSS standards. This means, the look and feel of the websites can be altered very easily, changing the layout, font style or colors across all websites with modest effort.
All database access is via common methods and classes, although website data is independent of each other. This is relevant because user logins and passwords are currently separate, but it would be possible to create a common login process across all the RSS Suite websites.
What are the costs and revenues?
The costs of operating RSS Suite and the associated websites is approximately $250 US per month. There are no on-going capital requirements or licensing costs past the initial purchase price and setup and no lines or encumbrances on the websites or domain names.
There is no appreciable revenue for RSS Suite at present. The future revenue will be the result of two critical factors:
- Traffic growth
- Marketing resources of purchaser
It is pure speculation as to what future revenues might be, but our experience would classify our expectations as:
| Modestly Successful | Successful | Well Marketed | Wildly Successful |
| <$4k per month | $10k - $15k per month | $20k - $25k per month | >35k per month |
What is the price?
Quite frankly, we are not sure. There are over 1000 hours of development time in these websites and, of course, we are in the business of making a profit. In addition, with RSS growth being so rapid, someone who decided to develop competing products themselves would surely lose ground. They could be marketing while they were still developing.
We will seriously consider all offers.

What can you tell me about the technical end of things?
All websites run on Microsoft's 1.1 ASP.NET platform using VB.NET as the primary language. A Windows web server is required with IIS installed. The database required is Microsoft SQL. The software has not been compiled under the new ASP.NET version 2.0, although this is not expected to be a difficult conversion.
It is recommended that two separate, dedicated servers (one for IIS and one for SQL) host the RSS Suite websites. NewslettersByRSS and Send2RSS have custom HTTP handlers and custom-written SMTP sinks, so a dedicated SMTP port (25) must be allocated.
Five separate IP addresses, one for each website are recommended as well as an additional two separate IP addresses for SMTP/email, totaling a minimum of seven (7) IP addresses required.
